This and That

This week's speaker is John Bills and the topic is the father heart of God, and studying His character, the very thing I have been learning lately and wrote about in my previous post. Hopefully I'll get some more revelations this week about God's nature. Today we learned a lot about authority, and how most of us view it, and how we need our view to be shaped into God's view so we can see His authority in the right light. This afternoon we had a couple come speak, and they have the gift of prophesy. They prophesied over some of us specifically, me included. YWAM is a bit more charismatic than what I've experienced in the churches I have grown up in, so I've been kind of skeptical about some stuff I've observed here such as prophesy and tongues, but I'm trying to be open to learning more. I've been challenging a lot of stuff I hear and am searching the Word for answers because I know the Bible is fact. Anyways, what they prophesied over me specifically was that: I have strong compassion, a prophetic anointing, I have a gift to feel other people's pain, I will be sent to dark places but God will protect me from burdens, God is preparing me to have a gift for inner-healing, and I carry the deep things. Like I said, I'm kind of skeptical of prophetic words spoken to me and it has happened numerous times here, but I feel that sometimes these things can be from God, I'm just using caution and not just taking every word for truth.

I'm assigned to read the book Irresistible Revolution by Shane Claiborne. I'm super excited to read this book! I've heard good things about it.

An update on my health: I'm pretty much back to normal as of today. I've been eating more and am doing fine.

Random update: I found out that I will be able to have internet access in Cambodia. There are cafes and places to get wi-fi, so I'll probably be bringing my laptop to keep blog updates.
