Right-Handedness

…As you ought to be… There are many ideas out there as to how we ought to be. The Muslim says that good deeds is the answer. The utilitarian says that morals, or a sense of right and wrong is how we should be. That if something is right, it brings happiness; to get the most happiness out of your life and pursue your pleasures. The humanist says that you should follow your dreams, express yourself, tolerate other’s expressions, and discover your personality. That we can work together for the greater good of humanity (not for the glory of God). A neuroscientist atheist said that everything, every experience, is linked to just chemicals in the brain, and that there is no higher being. The Christian says: JESUS. We ought to be like JESUS. Everything is for the GLORY OF GOD.
We should repent because we see that Jesus is good and so good that He is worthy of everything. True repentance is not repenting to feel safe and escape from hell. The reason to go to the cross is not for what you’ll get out of it, but what He’ll get out of it. Is not the lamb who was slain worthy to receive the reward of His suffering? He deserves our hearts because He is so full of love and gave up His life for the hope of fellowship with us. Some people want to know the fullness of God so they can use God. IT’S NOT WHAT YOU’RE GOING TO GET OUT OF GOD, IT’S WHAT HE IS GOING TO GET OUT OF YOU. Love and serve Him as long as you live simply because He is worthy. In the end every knee will bow. Are we bowing now?
We should be surrendering every right we have to Jesus. We must relinquish our talents and strengths unto Him.
“Our every possession must be handed over, poured out with ridiculous extravagance upon the feet of our King. We must learn to abide, to rest at His feet, and though the world bustle about in the strength of their own right-handedness and call us crazy, we must choose the good part (the holy pattern) in order to fully apprehend His strength, salvation, abundant Life and amazing Love.”
