The Body

…The battleground for glory… Basically, we can try and strive and muster up the best righteousness that can be had in man, but even the best will fall short of the glory of God and His high call to righteousness. We need to press the HELP button and ask Jesus to come in and wash us, get rid of the flesh of our sinful nature, and take us under His control. In other words, we need to get out of the driver’s seat of the car, hand the keys to Jesus, tell Him to fill it up with what He’s got and get in the trunk, close the door, and let Him drive.
I need Jesus to help me put on Christ and make no provision for my flesh; to clothe myself in Him and His righteousness, and for me to get out of the way. I die daily. He must increase and I must decrease. The only thing that I should care about when I meet someone is if they see Jesus, not me. It’s no longer I who live but Christ who dwells in me. My body is clothed in Christ in order to be indwelled by Christ. My spirit overtakes the body as the new ruling authority is order to reveal the person of Jesus Christ in the body. My soul is now a servant to righteousness instead of sin. My flesh no longer has ruling jurisdiction over the body, but is crucified along with the affections and lusts. I have everything I need for life and godliness and I have the same Spirit in me that rose Christ Jesus from the dead. What victory! I am no longer under the banner of sin. I’m free. In Christ I have victory and freedom. Thanks be to God through Christ Jesus our Lord – He is the only One who sets us free.
