God's Cray-Cray Love

The Relentless Love of the Father After His Peoples’ Heart

-                       God is so much more committed to us than we could ever be toward Him on this earth because He is Perfect and He loved us at our darkest while we still hated Him. He showed His covenantal love towards us by giving what He loved most. He loves us through burnout. He loves us enough to entrust the deep things of His heart to us. He loves us enough to entrust Himself, Holy Spirit, to take up residence within us.

-                   His love is unending and it does not return void to those who receive it with an open heart, but continues to grow and increase all the more. His love cannot be contained on earth because its force is so much stronger – He’s the God of the universe who was, and is, and is to come – no heart, no mind, no spirit can fully comprehend it because it’s so GINORMOUS.

-                   God’s love seems unjust from earthly standard; but wholly just, righteous, and pure from heavenly standard.

A People Seeking After God With All Their Heart, Mind, Soul, and Strength

-                       Surrender and givenness to God is a one time act, but is also a process of deeper and deeper layers of “flesh” being torn away and “spirit” being born; as we get off the “throne” of our heart and allow our King to sit in His rightful spot, preeminent over our entire being: over every neuron, synapse, thought, action, and intention. It is acknowledging our “humanness” but not taking advantage of the grace given that works mightily in us to move us from strength to strength as we look forward to the New Jerusalem.

-                      Abiding means we stay rooted in the truth of the unchanging nature and character of the Person of Christ, despite circumstances, for greater is He in us to do that which He calls us to.

-                    Standing in our position in Christ despite the evils of the world and our feeble efforts to respond looks like taking seasons of rest to enjoy things and to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord in the land of the living, until He compels us by love to rush headlong into the darkest places to bring the light that He Himself ignites within our soul as we lean upon Him in dependency.

-                    The joy of our salvation is restored as we allow the things of the world to grow dim in light of His mercy and grace, for nothing is stronger than the relentless love and desire of God for His creation, and the beauty of His character.
