Canon

THIS IS AN EXTRORDINARY MESSAGE!!! It’s a pretty huge message, but I’ll try to pick out the main points from my notes. This message was about digging into the Word and seeing how all the scriptures point to Jesus as Messiah. Satan’s main strategy is to get us to undermine the Word of God and the truth in scripture. I believe every word of the Bible to be true, accurate, and of the Father. It is my instruction manual for my life. I follow it, and it points to Jesus, and I follow Jesus unto death.
The rod: of measuring, of discipline, of comfort and enablement, of kingly authority. The rod is Christ. He is the Measuring Rod, the Perfection of Righteousness, the Fulfillment of the Law. He is the Word of God, profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness. He is Grace, Comfort, and Salvation. He is the King of kings and Lord of lords.
A branch (a rod) is verified as authentic by 3 crucial tests: it must have arisen from the divine root, it must bear likeness to the other branches, and it must bear identical fruit to the rest of the tree. JESUS is THE BRANCH. He is the Rods of all Rods, the Authority over all authorities. He says, “I am the root and offspring of David.” He is both the Root of Israel (Creator), but He is the Fruit and Fulfillment of Israel (the Messiah, Rescuer, Deliverer).
The Canon of Christ: the divine authority of the Word made flesh. “Canon” is a rod which has been measured and tested, and which then becomes a standard for measuring and testing other things. It is that which is set and established to control the saints of God. The divine right of Scripture: the canon of Scripture has right to rule and control our lives. The divine right of Christ: He has proven that the fruit of His life meets both the demands of Prophesy and the demands of Righteous perfection as stipulated in the Law of Moses. It all foretold of Him, all Scripture pointed to Him, and now all authority is given unto Him. Jesus is the Way, He is the Gospel, He has become the Ultimate Law and Judgment on all matters.
The rod measures, corrects, comforts, and judges. His Word has authority to measure us. Obviously no human can measure up and with one mistake that we make, we fall short of the glory of God and the justice for this should be separation from the Father and an eternity in hell. That’s where Jesus comes in as our Intercessor and Sacrifice. He took that condemnation to the cross so that He could receive the desire of His heart: our voluntary love. If we are in Christ, we are spotless and righteous before the Father.
The Canon test: testing Jesus against the Old Testament, proving Jesus as Canon…
·      He must prove the Son of God (Ps. 2:6-9, Luke 1:30-35)
·      He must prove the seed of the woman (Gen. 3:14-15, Gal. 4:4)

·      He will return to the mount of olives (Zech. 14:1-4, Acts 1:4-12)

There’s a whole other list describing what else He must demonstrate according to the prophecies in scripture. Jesus proves as Canon. It is amazing to see how Jesus meets every test and prophesy. There is no way but Yahweh! I am becoming a bearer of the Canon of Christ. I must allow the Rod the expose and uproot my sins, I must come under the rule and control of the Canon, I must be carried along by the Holy Spirit, I must do what He is doing and speak what He is speaking and out will flow the Living Water of God from my life.
Jesus, take my life and let it be consecrated Lord to Thee. Take my moments and my days let them flow in ceaseless praise. Take my hands and let them move at the impulse of Thy love. Take my feet and let them be swift and beautiful for Thee. Take my voice and let me sing always only for my King. Take my lips and let them be filled with messages from Thee. Take my silver and my gold not a mite will I withhold. Take my intellect and use every power as You choose. Here am I, all of me. Take my life, it’s all for Thee. Take my will and make it Thine it shall be no longer mine. Take my heart it is Thy own it shall be Thy royal throne. Take my love my Lord I pour at your feet its treasure stored. Take myself and I will be ever only all for Thee.
