I'm Going to Cambodia!

KINGDOM OF CAMBODIA

A nation devastated by a brutal genocide (1975-1979)...
A country where 95% of the population practices Theravada Buddhism...
A land that ranks tier 2 on the Trafficking In Persons Report (2016)...
A place where 80% of the population is under the age of 30, and 42% under 15...
A nation where I have learned what the power of restoration looks like...
A country that has taught me the beauty of community...
A land where I have seen 1 Samuel 2:8 demonstrated, "He raises up the poor from the dust; he lifts the needy from the ash heap to make them sit with princes and inherit a seat of honor. For the pillars of the earth are the Lord's, and on them He has set the world."
A place I can call "home" and go to visit "family"...

I am returning to Cambodia to visit (July 7th - August 7th) during my summer break before beginning another year of teaching/tutoring Slovakian and Somali children in the USA. This will be my third trip back, after previously spending a year of my life in this country serving, learning, and building relationships. The focus of this trip will be to come alongside organizations and friends to help them in mercy ministry which includes: anti-human trafficking, children at-risk, and village outreach. I believe that prayer is mighty to the pulling down of strongholds (2 Cor. 10:4). Please keep my friend, Dana, and me in prayer as we serve in Cambodia. Prayer requests include: safety in traveling between 3 different cities, health as it is very easy to get sick there, protection from secondary trauma which can affect aid workers, opportunities to share the love of Christ and hope of salvation with the people, and creativity and discernment in planning the lessons and crafts we will be preparing for the youth. If you would like to support me financially in this mission, you can make an online donation to my PayPal account via my email joy_hachfeld@hotmail.com or you can send a check (message me for my address). The cost of this trip will be approximately $3,000 which will include flights, travel insurance, local transportation, food and lodging, treating local Khmer to meals, and craft supplies. Leftover support money will be given to the ministries I will be partnered with or to the local missionaries. Thank you for your prayers and support.

Much love, Joy អំណរ
