GO Fearlessly. Don’t Stop. It’s Gonna Be Worth It.

Have you ever dreamed so big that the possibility of what you see freaks you out because it is so far beyond your capacity?

What would your life look like if you walked without fear, without heeding those voices in your head that go, “but what about this? But what if that happened? But what if…?”

What is the Gospel?
How have you experienced it?

You are free. You’ve been adopted into Christ’s family.

Now go – by the blood of the Lamb, by a revelation of the atoning purchase of the cross, by the hope of the word of your testimony ----> captives will be set free. Slaves will enter into freedom. Christ has done it for you, and now that you know nothing can separate you from His love, you must be His witnesses. You have the privilege to testify of His faithfulness, that others may be free and go, worshipping the One who is worthy.

Yes, there is a cost. The Gospel demands all of us, our very life. Our life will not be the same. Comfort can be torn from our grasp, our sense of security can be ripped away, all of our fallbacks melt into nothing... BUT: If we lose it all for the sake of Christ, we will gain all. We will meet the Comforter. We will find security under the shelter of the wings of the Almighty. We will bloom into who we were designed to be as we step into plan A, not turning back to plan B. If our insecurities, doubts, and fears speak louder in our hearts than His love that speaks a better word, we’ll have lost the divine calling we are given to go and love others to the fullest. But His perfect love casts out fear. When we gaze upon the Beautiful One with undivided attention, we will see that He is worth it. He counted us worth it all, spilling His life and blood out for us. Will we not do the same for Him?

The cost is beside the point in light of eternity. It won’t be easy, but it will be worth it. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18, “For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”

What we give up in this life to live as Christ – the Suffering Servant who gave up His life to extravagantly love and serve in selflessness, a man who was rejected, despised, and crucified, a man of many sorrows, a man who had no place to lay His head – is nothing in comparison to what we will gain. We are given spiritual blessings in Christ Jesus (Eph. 1). Don’t settle for the entertainment and allures of the world. There is so much more. In the words of C.S. Lewis, “There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind.”

So go. Don’t let fear stop you. Don’t let insecurity stop you. Don’t let what you think you are incapable of be a hindrance in seeing the dreams of God fulfilled because He is with you and He is for you. He is the God of the impossible who strengthens your inner being. 2 Timothy 4:2, “Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching.”

I see a generation who seeks the face of God with reckless devotion. I see children from the dump who are running and laughing because they know they are loved. I see brothels that are closed down because broken men become whole men who protect the purity of their sisters. I see widows taken into homes and being clothed and fed.

What do you see?

Don’t put missionaries who go to foreign countries on a pedestal. We all have the same calling: to shine the light and truth of Jesus in whatever nation or circumstance we are in. Be a missionary wherever you are. If you feel a pull to go to unreached people groups in Nepal or India, then go, and do not let fear or “what ifs” crush the call of God on your life. If you know your obedience lies in staying in your hometown, then stay, and share the love of Jesus everyday with your family, your coworkers, with the cashier at walmart. As we move forward into a kingdom lifestyle with open hands, God will do abundantly beyond what we could ever imagine. He is the God who split the sea, sheltered His people with a cloud by day and pillar of fire by night, rained manna from heaven, calmed the raging storm. He broke the power of sin and took our shame. Walk in the freedom Christ purchased, knowing He qualifies you. 2 Corinthians 3:4-6, “Such confidence we have through Christ toward God. Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God, who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.”

I don't have the ability to bring freedom, but the truth of the Gospel does. Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom, and Holy Spirit dwells in His people. We are carriers of His presence, and if we value the presence and share Him with others, they will be given the chance to receive everything needed for life and godliness. We are carriers of the message of hope that has the power to transform and redeem sinners into sons and daughters.

Let’s encourage each other in our callings. Let’s set our eyes on Him who is the Author and Perfector of our faith. Let’s fight the good fight of saying no to ungodliness and yes to righteousness. Run run run the race, knowing that He who started a good work will be faithful to carry it on to completion.

Out of the ashes a new song will be sung. Can you hear it? Let God attune your heart to hear the sound of sons and daughters singing His praise, dancing upon injustice, setting the captives free to sing and dance before their Creator who created each one for a purpose.
