Immovable

“For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” (1 Cor. 3:11) Our foundation is a Person. We must stand on His strength. Our foundation is Jesus; He is the cornerstone. He is immovable. So our foundation is immovable. If we’re fixed to the eternal One, we won’t be moved, we can’t be shaken, and winds won’t blow us away. This is fact – live it, walk in it. Be anxious for nothing. Keep eyes fixed on Jesus, His countenance should be your countenance. 1 Peter 2:6, “Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.” (confounded: to be put to shame, to be disgraced, to have hope meet with failure). We shall NOT be confounded if we trust wholly in Him. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is immutable, fixed, unchanging – therefore we can stand immovable no matter what is happening around us, even if the mountains are crumbling into the sea. “Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord. His heart is established, he shall not be afraid.” (Ps. 112:6-8). We should be still and know that He is God – be resolute and immovable because He is our refuge. If you’re fixed on Christ, you’re eternally secure. Have faith in the work of Jesus, moment by moment. He will keep you from falling. Trust in His ability to perform. Our hope is in Him. He ever lives to make intercession for us. He seeks to save us, and fights for our salvation. Extraordinary faith makes you untouchable. So be strong and courageous; fear not, our God is with us. We need to learn to enjoy the challenges of life, to have joy in the midst of the darkness, to have a constancy of soul, never to let evil tidings take us down. Every moment is a leaping moment because Jesus sits enthroned – He is God. He is sovereign over everything, with all things under His feet. “I have set the Lord always before me: because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.” (Ps. 16:8). “My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation: He is my defense; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in Him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before Him: God is a refuge for us.” (Ps. 62:5-8).
