Proving faithful with the small
things… We are a work in progress. We are never finished here on this earth,
but are daily being shaped more and more into the likeness of Jesus. It’s an
ongoing process, and we need to press forward and run the race in perseverance.
As we grow in our faith, we see the commission and learn how to walk in the
power of the Holy Spirit, but we only have a corner of land. We need to grow in
maturity. We need to prove faithful with the little, mature, and move on to
claim more land. We are given the full armor of God, but we need to learn how
to wield our sword and weaponry. Character and strength need to be built. God
is not going to call us to ministry unless we prove faithful on the training
ground He gives us to grow on. First we need to prove faithful in our own soul.
We need to learn how to be built strong and fortified. Only then will we be
equipped to be intercessors for others. God will expand our range and provide
us with more leadership when we prove that we can serve our own family and walk
in integrity our self. He trains our soul to recognize our weakness so we must
depend upon His strength. We must trust His way. If we are not living as
missionaries here, in our own home, what’s going to change if we go across the
world?
There is never an end to our
discovery in Christ, our growth in Christ, our work for Christ, and our
ever-increasing admiration of Christ. If we press forward, proving faithful
with the small things that the Lord tests us with, He will give us more. Our
faith will increase, our fruit will multiply, our walk with God will abound
more and more in richness.
