Look To The Source

A couple weeks ago, I felt Jesus calling me to come away with Him. I had had a busy week, and was starting to feel worn out. I heard the gentle, beckoning call of Jesus whispering, “Come away with me.” I went somewhere quiet outside, put my ipod on shuffle, and waited for the Lord to speak to me. He put Psalm 23 in my mind. I closed my eyes and suddenly Jesus was leading me by quiet waters, restoring my soul. I saw this picture of myself, standing in a river, spinning and dancing under a waterfall. At this point, a song on my ipod called “Something in the Water” began playing. I looked more closely at the river and the waterfall, and saw that there was indeed something in the water. Underneath the water, sparkled magnificent rocks, jewels, and gems of every color. Mixed in with the waterfall were vibrant colors of the rainbow. I looked up to see the source of the waterfall, but it went on and on up into the sky. I couldn’t see the end. It was falling down from heaven. I asked Jesus, “why?” Why is there something in the water? Why is there a rainbow? What does all this mean? I was like a curious child, asking question after question to my Father. Suddenly the Spirit opened the scriptures to me and brought me to the book of Revelation. I was amazed, completely amazed, and blown away to see what the Lord revealed to me. I saw in Revelation 4:3 that, “A rainbow, resembling an emerald, encircled the throne.” I realized that the source of this water that was falling down on me was pouring down from the throne room of God. In Revelation 21:18-20 it says, “The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass. The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, the fifth onyx, the sixth ruby, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth turquoise, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst.” I realized that the rocks and jewels on the floor of the river on which I stood were these heavenly gems. They were the treasures and riches from heaven. God has been teaching me about spiritual gifts; revealing to me all the riches He wants me to claim. He was saying, “Joy, you stand on these rocks, on these precious treasures. I am giving you these gifts, claim them; dance on them.” I realized that the water I was in was no ordinary water. Revelation 22:1 says that there is a “river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God”. I saw another picture; one of rivers being held back, a dam was blocking the flow. I saw Jesus breaking down the dams so water could pour out and flow. He said to me, “I am breaking down the dams in your soul. I am releasing rivers of Life in you. You are to have rivers flowing through you. You will never run dry when you receive Living Water from Me.” Revelation 21:6 says, “To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life.” I was standing in the Living Water of Almighty God. When I soak in the Living Water of Jesus, I can dance in freedom. When I come bask in the river, I am refreshed. Jesus was telling me that when I grow weary and tired, to enter into His presence. Rest in Him. Come to the river of Life. Be refreshed. When my river is running dry, look to the source. Look to God. Go before the throne of the Almighty. He has an unending supply of Living Water He longs to pour down on me, I only have to come and receive it. When He pours into me, I can then pour into others. I must first be refreshed in His presence, and then I can focus outward – for I can only give what I have received. I realized that by the river, everything was so vibrant and green. There was so much growth and life abundant. This is how it is when we are in His presence. Seek the face of God, there is so much revelation to be gained in His presence!

... This was what I like to call a "no way - yes way - Yahwey - JESUS!" experience.

I've got a river of living water
A fountain that never will run dry
It's open Heavens You're releasing
And we will never be denied
Cause we're stirring up deep deep wells
We're stirring up deep deep waters
We're going to dance in the river, dance in the river
Deep cries out to deep cries out to
So we cry out to, we cry out to, You Jesus
We're falling into deeper waters, calling out to You
We're walking into deeper waters, going after You
We're going to dance dance, dance dance in the river
Dance dance, dance dance, everybody

  1. Oh JoyJoy! This is DEFINATELY one of those moments! There's no end to the things that God can teach you, and every one of them will be amazing...but this one just leaves me smiling today. It's so hopeful, and it's a picture of how beautiful God is.
